Dos writes... Ok, so all is planned for the wedding on the weekend. We did the necessary site visits and planned some beautiful video and photo-opps for when the time comes. Steadicam this, rack focus that, macro the tears... sweet! Sounds like we planned it all. Hmmmmmm, PLAN, what a word. For me personally, the more I plan the more I don't really follow it. Fine, some things you do, but most of it changes on the day. Why? I doh know! I guess thats why they say 'A plan is a list of items that never happen' - SPOT ON!!
So we’re in the wedding, its party-time and we are looking for a new way to portray the vibe and energy of the reception. So the MacGyver in us comes out and I start to think about all the things I could “clamp” a camera too for that “party-eye-perspective” and then I start to think about how much I love tequila (eh?). So, naturally we try all how to strap a camera onto a tequila bottle and after 30 mins of MacGyver-isms we come through.
And AWESOME is the TequilaRig TM. But, naturally we should be the ones testing out this potentially dangerous rig. All sorts things can go wrong: the bottle can slip and knock out teeth, or the camera could fall to its death! So, we, us, the JTO crew take it for the safety of the other 200 people. And wallaa , it works like a charm... Ah couple of shots later, the rest of the wedding is experiencing this liquid-heaven-on-a-pole with a camera on it - held up by a clamp, a very expensive Camera and a 16mm lens. Oh and some tape.
Sweet!! Can't wait for the next clamp-on-camera session. High-heels anyone?
When I’m shooting Tequila, oops I mean video...
